The South Sevier Rams will square off against the Millard Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Sevier has 23 straight victories, Millard has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
South Sevier barely beat Beaver the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams put the hurt on the Beavers with a sharp 13-2 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Kloe Donohue made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caitlin Nielson, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Halle Mckinlay was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
South Sevier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaver only posted an OBP of .320.
South Summit hit Millard with a four-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 11-1 to the Wildcats.
Maren Davies was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
South Sevier pushed their record up to 23-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Millard, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Sevier hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .408. However, it's not like Millard struggles in that department as they've averaged .356. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went South Sevier's way against Millard in their previous meeting on Tuesday, as South Sevier made off with a 7-0 victory. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
