Hudson Smith posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. Needles is undefeated when Smith allowstwo or fewer earned runs, but 4-5-1 otherwise.

Smith's strong effort led Needles over Lincoln County and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
