After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Atlanta, the Meadville Eagles were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 65-53 victory over Brashear. The win was all the more spectacular given Meadville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Brashear is ranked 117th).
Leading Meadville to victory were Gauge Shiflett and Reece Meyers. Shiflett scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds, while Meyers scored 13 points along with 8 assists and 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mason Dennis, who scored 13 points.
The win got Meadville back to even at 3-3. As for Brashear, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meadville will stay at home for another game and welcome Linn County at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Brashear will take on La Plata at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
