The Glenn Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. The match between Glenn and Parkland wasn't particularly close, with Glenn falling 65-47. Glenn was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Parkland apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Glenn's loss came despite strong showings from Zyire Murphy and Kendrick Hines. Murphy scored 14 points along with five rebounds, while Hines scored ten points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Murphy has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noni Jones, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Parkland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brock Jackson, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Moore, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Glenn's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Parkland, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.
Glenn will challenge Reagan at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Reagan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Glenn in North Carolina (Reagan is ranked 130th, while Glenn is ranked 328th). As for Parkland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Forsyth has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 410 points over their last six games.
