Make it five blowout wins for the L.E.A.D. Academy Lions this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Escambia 54-25 on the road. The win was familiar territory for L.E.A.D. Academy who now have six in a row.
L.E.A.D. Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sophia Harold out in front who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. Harold is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Kamryn Lay was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
L.E.A.D. Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Escambia, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. L.E.A.D. Academy will take on Gulf Pointe Latin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Gulf Pointe Latin's defense has only allowed 26.9 points per game this season, so L.E.A.D. Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. Escambia won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tate at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
