The Granite Bay Grizzlies will take on the Rocklin Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Granite Bay: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Rocklin has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
Folsom hit Granite Bay with a six-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Grizzlies came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 12-2. The matchup marked the Grizzlies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Granite Bay saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Lincoln, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Rocklin got the win against Oak Ridge on Wednesday by a conclusive 9-1.
Payton Prior spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Addie Titlow was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Brooklyn Lonteen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Rocklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Rocklin's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Granite Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Granite Bay has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Rocklin struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Granite Bay suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Rocklin in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Grizzlies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
