King's Fork saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendon Butler, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The Bulldogs are 5-1 when Butler posts two or more runs, but 0-12 otherwise. Another was Corbin Satchell, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
As for Deep Creek, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 3-14 record. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the game before.
On Deep Creek's side, Owen Hoertt and Tristin Mosley were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hoertt struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Mosley pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts Hoertt has posted since back in March. At bat, Hoertt went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Mosley went 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on JJ Stanton, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahlyl Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. King's Fork will challenge Hampton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Crabbers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Deep Creek, they will face off against Manor at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
