MOORESVILLE, N.C. -
Hough (Cornelius, N.C.) extended its winning streak to nine games with a 17-9 victory over
Lake Norman (Mooresville, N.C.) on Saturday.
The Huskies were up 7-6 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter.
Hough expanded its lead to five points entering the fourth quarter. HHS scored once in the quarter on a
Josh Stilley touchdown pass to
Nicholas Burrow.
Josh Ladowski played well for the Wildcats. The sophomore quarterback threw one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 11 on the year.
White was the top performer for the Cornelius school. The sophomore wide receiver ran for one touchdown and kicked one field goal and two extra points.
Lake Norman's lone touchdown came on an 11-yard pass in the first quarter.
The Huskies had given up an average of 15.8 points prior to the contest. The nine points that LN ended with were well below its average of 20.4 coming into the game.
Hough got revenge for last year's 20-9 loss to the Mooresville school with the victory.
The loss comes after Lake Norman defeated West Charlotte 19-7 last week.
Lake Norman (4-6) goes up against Mooresville in a 4A I-Meck game matchup next week, while Hough (9-1) locks horns with Mallard Creek also in a 4A I-Meck game.
