Volleyball Recap: Mclaurin Starts Season with Win Against Raleigh

McLaurin had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Raleigh Lions by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2022.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 25-16.

McLaurin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Memoree Hunter out in front who had six aces.

Raleigh dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McLaurin will square off against Jefferson Davis County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Raleigh, they will challenge Mendenhall at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
