Softball Recap: Beaver Has No Trouble Against Western Beaver

Beaver was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Western Beaver on Monday. The Bobcats blew past the Golden Beavers 11-1. Considering the Bobcats have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Cali Coups was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Sami Springman was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Beaver always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Beaver only posted an OBP of .263.

Beaver has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Western Beaver, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Beaver will host North Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Western Beaver, they will head out to take on Hampton at 4:05 p.m. on the 23rd.
