The Canyon del Oro Dorados's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-45 to Catalina Foothills. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Canyon del Oro of the 56-20 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Several Dorados players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Will Dixion, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Mykael Nunez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Canyon del Oro's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Catalina Foothills, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canyon del Oro won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Flowing Wells at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Flowing Wells is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Catalina Foothills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ironwood Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Ironwood Ridge's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
