After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Danny Vos to
Andrew Brown in the first quarter,
Ripon Christian (Ripon, Calif.) led 44-17 at the half.
The Knights expanded their lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. Ripon Christian scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Brown.
RC put up 30 points in the second quarter en route to the win. The Ripon school scored on a touchdown pass by Vos to
Brandon Dotinga, a Vos touchdown pass to Brown, a touchdown run by Brown and a touchdown pass by Vos to Dotinga in the quarter.
Gustine (Calif.)'s Isaiah Figueroa played well. The junior running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to five on the year.
Vos played well for the Knights in the victory. The senior quarterback kicked two field goals and six extra points.
Coming into the game Ripon Christian had allowed 22.4 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding the Redskins well above their season average of 8.3 points scored per game.
The Knights also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 62-9.
The win was a nice bounce back for Ripon Christian, which lost to Waterford last week, 49-7.
Ripon Christian (7-2) goes up against Le Grand in a Southern game matchup next week, while Gustine (1-8) locks horns with Mariposa County also in a Southern game.
