The Amistad Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to East Haven. Amistad lost against East Haven in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 38-30 score last time.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was LaShaya Patterson , who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Patterson scored a full 34% of Amistad's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnae McFadden, who scored 11 points along with six assists and three steals.
Amistad's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for East Haven, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.
Amistad will head out on the road to face off against Woodstock Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Woodstock Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games. East Haven won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sacred Heart Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Sacred Heart Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 214 points over their last three contests.
