Laton is 8-2 against Alpaugh since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs will host the Buffalos at 4:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Laton took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Wonderful College Prep Academy as they made off with a 16-2 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Jade Perez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.
In other batting news, Madison Heffley was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emmily Mares, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Laton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Alpaugh and Kings Christian, and Alpaugh kept the tradition alive. The Buffalos had just enough and edged out the Crusaders 22-21 on Monday.
Laton has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.4 runs over those games. As for Alpaugh, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
Everything went Laton's way against Alpaugh when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Laton made off with a 16-4 win. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buffalos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
