The Valley View Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 56-45 to Orange Vista. Valley View was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Orange Vista apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Charles Knight and Maurice Lynch certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Knight scored 24 points along with 6 rebounds, while Lynch scored 13 points along with 4 steals. Knight scored a full 53.3% of Valley View's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
It was another big night for Anson (AJ) Wright, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds for Orange Vista. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Wooten, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds and 5 blocks.
Valley View has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Orange Vista, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Valley View will be playing at home against Heritage at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Orange Vista is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Rancho Verde at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Rancho Verde will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
