Davison has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Midland Chemics at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Davison is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Chemics in Michigan (the Cardinals are ranked 54th, while the Chemics are ranked 562nd).
Even though Davison has not done well against the Bobcats recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Davison secured a 42-36 W over the Bobcats. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Davison has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Midland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Powers Catholic at home and fell 88-43.
Davison pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Midland, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Davison against the Chemics when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 83-51 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Davison since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
