Sunnyvale came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to Lincoln for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-21 victory on the road. Sunnyvale might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five contests by 21 points or more this season.
Sunnyvale found their leader in underclassman Jaden Cross, who rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Cross' longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. Jackson Smith was another key contributor, throwing for 148 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Krum beat Gainesville 41-35 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Krum.
Krum got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ty Taber out in front who threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Haidyn Jones, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Sunnyvale's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.67 points. As for Krum, their win bumped their record up to 5-5.
