The Camp Point Central Panthers extended their postseason success on Saturday against the Althoff Catholic Crusaders. Everything went their way against the Crusaders as they made off with a 42-22 win. Camp Point Central's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Camp Point Central was led to victory by Elijah Genenbacher and Drew Paben. Genenbacher rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns, while Paben gained 152 total yards and two touchdowns. Paben was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 63 yards.
Camp Point Central's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Kadin Niekamp and Conner Griffin who racked up four sacks between them.
Despite the loss, Althoff Catholic still got an impressive performance from Dierre Hill jr, who rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Hill jr is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played.
Camp Point Central has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41.38 points. As for Althoff Catholic, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-2.
Camp Point Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenfield/Northwestern at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greenfield/Northwestern is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Althoff Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
