The East Grand Rapids Pioneers will head out on the road to face off against the Whitehall Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Grand Rapids will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Whitehall is ranked third).
East Grand Rapids unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. The game between East Grand Rapids and Forest Hills Eastern wasn't particularly close, with East Grand Rapids falling 62-46.
Meanwhile, Whitehall put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 61-51 victory over Hamtramck.
Whitehall got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Camden Thompson out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 22 rebounds. The game was Thompson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kal Koehler, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
East Grand Rapids' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Whitehall, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
