The Elkhart Wildcats were the 45-32 winner over the Cheyenne Wells Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Elkhart received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 32-16 to Cheyenne Wells. Elkhart has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cheyenne Wells was led to victory by Corey Hill and Carson Noe. Hill dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Noe dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Hill has scored at least 25% of Cheyenne Wells' points.
Elkhart's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Cheyenne Wells, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Elkhart will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Goodwell at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Goodwell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 265th in Oklahoma, while Elkhart is ranked 33rd in Kansas). As for Cheyenne Wells, they will take on Stanton County at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
