Donovan Catholic had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Howell Rebels  a   21-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Griffins also won the last time the pair played  back in September of 2024.
 Alex Staten had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 143 yards and two  scores on only 13 carries. Those  143  rushing yards gave  him a new career-high.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Donovan Catholic was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 204  rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Howell didn't  rushed for any.
 Donovan Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Boogs Snerling and  Tyler Hunter. With that strong performance,  Snerling is now averaging an impressive 1.2  defended passes per game.  Jason Madden was another major factor on D,  picking up  two  sacks, forcing one fumble,  and making 11 total tackles.
Donovan Catholic's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Howell,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-6.
 Looking ahead, Donovan Catholic will take on St. Joseph at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 10.6  points per game  this season, so the Griffins' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Howell, they will square off against Washington Township at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Minutemen have now posted at least 31  points  in their last five contests.
