The Clayton Bulldogs lost against the Battiest Panthers back in January of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Clayton was beaten by the Panthers 68-34. Clayton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Clayton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shelton Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Lewis hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Brayden McDaniel, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Clayton has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Battiest, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.
Clayton will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Battiest, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eagletown will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
