Two dominant signal callers in Reggie Moody and Hauss Hejny are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Red Oak Hawks will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Aledo Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Red Oak extended their postseason success on Saturday against Amarillo. They walked away with a 35-28 win over the Sandies. 35 seems to be a good number for Red Oak as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Chris Martinez jr was his usual excellent self, rushing for 128 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, while also throwing for 185 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. Martinez jr was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Red Oak also got a significant boost from Lorenzo Holman, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 109 yards.
Meanwhile, Aledo put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 48-31 win over Lubbock-Cooper. Given Aledo's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Lubbock-Cooper is ranked 81st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aledo got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ray Guillory out in front who rushed for 198 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Hejny also helped out as he racked up 115 rushing yards.
Red Oak's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Aledo, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0.
Red Oak might still be hurting after the 34-14 defeat they got from Aledo in their previous meeting back in November of 2019. Thankfully for Red Oak, Jase Mcclellan (who rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
