On Friday Johnson County Central take on Freeman at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps rankings project a close contest.
If Johnson County Central were riding high off their 43-0 takedown of Conestoga two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Johnson County Central ended up on the wrong side of a painful 14-41 walloping at Wilber-Clatonia's hands. Johnson County Central's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Josh Bailey, who rushed for 206 yards and 2 touchdowns. This marked the 3rd matchup in which Bailey has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout in their game two weeks ago against Wilber-Clatonia, Freeman were happy to find some success last Friday. Freeman had enough points to win and then some against Malcolm, taking their match 33-13.
Freeman's win lifted them to 4-2 while Johnson County Central's loss dropped them down to 3-3. We'll see if Freeman's success rolls on or if Johnson County Central are able to steal their positive momentum.
