The Englewood Rams will take on the Riverside Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Englewood has given up an average of 14.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Englewood fell victim to Parker and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 18-0 to the Braves. The Rams just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverside). They blew past Westside 27-12 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Generals brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on K Ragland, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, six RBI, and four runs. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of M Talton, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Riverside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .784. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westside only posted an OBP of .296.
The win snapped Riverside's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-8 record. As for Englewood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Englewood has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .512. However, it's not like Riverside struggles in that department as they've averaged .517. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Englewood's way against Riverside in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Englewood made off with a 25-10 victory. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Generals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
