Josh Barta turned in yet another pitching appearance with more than seven strikeouts on Friday. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He was up against Grant Park and has quite the history against that squad, as he also had a great game the last time he faced them back in April of 2024. Barta also tossed two walks, which is notable because Peotone is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-10 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Barta and Peotone will look to defend their home field on Monday against Reed-Custer at 4:30 p.m. The last time Barta duked it out with the Comets (back in May of 2024), the Blue Devils came out on top by a score of 9-8.
