Palmetto Christian Academy managed to keep up with the Northside Christian Academy Crusaders until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Palmetto Christian Academy was outmatched by Northside Christian Academy at home and fell 73-41. While losing is never fun, Palmetto Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Northside Christian Academy is ranked 112th).
Palmetto Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Evan Seay, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Seay has scored all season. Blaise Sorensen was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds.
Hilton Dessausure continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northside Christian Academy, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade McNeil, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Palmetto Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Northside Christian Academy, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmetto Christian Academy will take on Thomas Sumter Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Palmetto Christian Academy is facing Thomas Sumter Academy at the right time seeing as Thomas Sumter Academy is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Northside Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Oakbrook Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northside Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 games -- so hopefully Oakbrook Prep likes a good challenge.
