The Denver West Cowboys put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Jefferson at home to the tune of 73-26. Denver West's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Denver West was led to victory by Jacob Dallas and Jeremiah Parker. Dallas dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Parker dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Parker has scored at least 25% of Denver West's points. Another player making a difference was Ervin McDowell, who scored six points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Jefferson's loss came despite strong showings from Timothy Gomez and Jordan Ball. Gomez scored seven points along with six rebounds, while Ball scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ball has scored all season.
Denver West pushed their record up to 10-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37 points. As for Jefferson, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denver West will take on Manual at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Jefferson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Lupton at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Fort Lupton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 back in December of 2023.
