After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nunamiut, the Alak Huskies were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Nuiqsut Trapper and snuck past 53-51. That's another feather in the cap for Alak, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Alak can attribute much of their success to Josiah Henry, who scored 26 points. Henry is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Okpeaha, who scored 14 points.
Alak's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Nuiqsut Trapper, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Alak will be playing in front of their home fans against Kali at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nuiqsut Trapper won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Alak at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th.
