The Robinson Bulldogs will challenge the West Rowan Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Robinson took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Lake Norman Charter, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs skirted past the Knights 5-3.

Aury Greenfield was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Barbee, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, West Rowan had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since March 7th.
Brant Graham was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Graham was also big at the plate, scoring a run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Graham, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Gaige Scruggs, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
West Rowan pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Robinson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Robinson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like West Rowan struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Robinson couldn't quite finish off West Rowan when the teams last played back in March and fell 4-2. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
