The Woodgrove Wolverines entered their tilt with the John Champe Knights with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Woodgrove came out on top against John Champe by a score of 54-47 on Friday. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Woodgrove has scored all season.
Jack Hill was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Dane Marsh, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and seven blocks.
Woodgrove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for John Champe, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Woodgrove will head out on the road to take on Loudoun County at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Loudoun County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 358th, while Woodgrove is ranked 50th). As for John Champe, they will be playing at home against Rock Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
