The McAuley Catholic Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Golden City Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for McAuley Catholic, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-40 loss to the Cougars. McAuley Catholic has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 77-36, which was the final score in Golden City's tilt against the Warriors last Friday.
Despite the defeat, Golden City saw an underclassman step up: Spencer Parrill scored 13 points along with three steals. Parrill has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamison Menadue, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
McAuley Catholic's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9. As for Golden City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.
McAuley Catholic came up short against the Eagles when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 43-39. Thankfully for McAuley Catholic, Josh Reeves (who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
