The Thornton Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Aurora Central Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Thornton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, everything went Thornton's way against the Olympians as the Trojans made off with a 39-16 victory. The victory was just what Thornton needed coming off of a 46-25 loss in their prior matchup.
Julionna Sandoval had an outrageously good game as she scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Araya William, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Aurora Central came up short against the Eagles on Thursday and fell 51-44. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Aurora Central in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.
Thornton's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Aurora Central, they dropped their record down to 8-10 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Thornton didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Trojans in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 43-37 win. Does Thornton have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
