Sherwood has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Montrose Blue Jays at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Sherwood suffered a tough 63-37 defeat at the hands of Butler. While losing is never fun, Sherwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while Butler is ranked 184th).
Meanwhile, Montrose's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were the victim of a tough 53-29 loss at the hands of Sheldon. Montrose has struggled against Sheldon recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Sherwood has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Montrose, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Sherwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Montrose in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, sneaking past 63-60. Will Sherwood repeat their success, or does Montrose have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
