Landmark Academy's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Parkway Christian 83-40. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Landmark Academy in their matchups with Parkway Christian: they've now lost three in a row.
Parkway Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zaheem Cannon out in front who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Wolgast, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds.
Landmark Academy's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for Parkway Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Landmark Academy will take on Peck at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Peck focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Parkway Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Lutheran Northwest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lutheran Northwest is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
