It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Richlands ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Dixon Bulldogs 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on ten straight.
Makenzie Goin spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jailah Wilson was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Cubas, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run.
Richlands' victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games.
