The Van Horn Falcons will take on the Harmon Hawks in a tournament on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Van Horn made easy work of Cardinal Ritter College Prep and carried off a 10-3 win.

Van Horn got a massive performance out of Caleb Bushakra, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. The Falcons are undefeated when Bushakra posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Gray, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Harmon hadn't done well against Wyandotte recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Bulldogs. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Gibson Miller looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Izak Tovar was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Chad Taylor was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Harmon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Van Horn is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Harmon, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Van Horn has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Harmon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Van Horn took their win against Harmon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-0 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
