Campo Verde is a perfect 5-0 against Desert Ridge since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Campo Verde Coyotes will head out on the road to face off against the Desert Ridge Jaguars at 3:45 p.m. Campo Verde is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Campo Verde saw some tournament action on Saturday. They blew past Buena 9-2. Fans of the Coyotes have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Luke Girard tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Kaden Evahnenko was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Rauch, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Campo Verde hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buena struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Desert Ridge didn't have quite enough to beat O'Connor on Saturday and fell 7-6.
Desert Ridge saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tre Hallberg, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that Hallberg launched this season.
Desert Ridge's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Campo Verde, their record is now 5-0.
Campo Verde's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. Campo Verde has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Desert Ridge, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Campo Verde continue to outrun the ball?
Campo Verde skirted past Desert Ridge 3-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Campo Verde since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
