They fell just short of the Stingrays by a score of 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Mandarin has suffered yet this season.
Mandarin lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ny'keria Thomas, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists. Irvieona Gantt was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Mandarin's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Atlantic Coast, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.
Mandarin will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Bishop Kenny at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Bishop Kenny has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Atlantic Coast, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tocoi Creek at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Tocoi Creek is ranked 96th, while Atlantic Coast is ranked 121st).
