After flying high against the Tekonsha Indians last Friday, the Waldron Spartans came back down to earth. Waldron fell 50-37 to Springport on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Waldron has scored all season.
Dallas Higelmire went supernova for Springport, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Gibson Overweg was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 14 rebounds.
Waldron now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Springport, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.
Waldron will be home for the holidays to greet Jackson Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson Christian is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Springport, they will head out on the road to face off against Homer at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st.
