The Tippecanoe Valley Vikings had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They really took it to North Miami for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-35 win at home. With Tippecanoe Valley ahead 44-20 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Ian Cooksey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Riley Shepherd, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Tippecanoe Valley's lineup was just a bit different on Tuesday as Aiden Shepherd got a bit more time on the court (20 vs. his season average of 7.57). Shepherd made the most of the opportunity, scoring four points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Despite the loss, North Miami still got an impressive performance from Jacob Riley, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
North Miami struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Tippecanoe Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for North Miami, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Tippecanoe Valley will be playing at home against Knox at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Knox is coming into the game with three straight losses on the road, meaning Tippecanoe Valley will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. North Miami is on the road again on Friday and plays Lewis Cass at 7:45 p.m. on February 9th. Lewis Cass will be up against North Miami's rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.88 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive showing.
