The Takini Skyhawks lost against the Harding County Ranchers back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Takini was outmatched by the Ranchers on the road and fell 69-42. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Takini in their matchups with the Ranchers: they've now lost four in a row.
Payton Dvorak continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Harding County, scoring 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Dvorak is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jarett Schuchard, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Takini's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Harding County, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Takini's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Tigers at 5:15 p.m. on February 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Oelrichs is ranked 157th, while the Skyhawks are ranked 143rd). As for Harding County, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
