Even though the St. John's Mavericks have not done well against the Episcopal Knights recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. St. John's walked away with a 71-58 victory over Episcopal. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Sebastian Williams-adams, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Malachi Booker, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
St. John's is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Episcopal, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-8.
St. John's the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Cooper at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Cooper will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 481st, while St. John's is ranked 100th). As for Episcopal, they will head out on the road to face off against Kinkaid at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
