Lowell is 0-7 against Crown Point since May of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Red Devils will face off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
While Lowell didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over Hebron on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won three in a row.

Caden Thompson looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lowell got a massive performance out of Zak Scharnke, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Miles Huber, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Lowell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 12.2.
Meanwhile, Crown Point waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Indians as they made off with a 14-1 victory. Crown Point's win was all the more impressive since the Indians were averaging only 4.07 runs allowed on the season.
Crown Point also got a great performance from Linus Chariton as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Billy Chidsey, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Noah Ehrlich was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs.
Crown Point's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lowell, their record is now 8-5.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lowell has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. However, it's not like Crown Point struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lowell couldn't quite get it done against Crown Point when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
