The Academia Avance Guerreros Jaguares's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 80-22 defeat at the hands of Maywood Academy.
Maywood Academy was led to victory by Rodrigo Miranda and Luis ALEGRIA. Miranda dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten assists, while ALEGRIA dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. ALEGRIA set a new season high mark in steals with five. Matthew Lomeli was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Academia Avance has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Maywood Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Academia Avance and Alliance Bloomfield will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 3:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
