The Horizon Christian Academy Warriors's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with an 84-74 victory over Cherokee Christian. The victory was all the more spectacular given Horizon Christian Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while Cherokee Christian is ranked 134th).
Jacob Salvador was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with eight assists. That's the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Beenken, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Horizon Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-9 record this season. As for Cherokee Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
