The Bethlehem Wildcats were the 50-45 winner over the Cottondale Hornets when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Bethlehem fell 49-36 to the Hornets on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Bethlehem saw an underclassman step up: Kason Paul scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Lentz, who scored eight points.
Cottondale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cole Reagan out in front who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Trey Nettles, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Bethlehem's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4. As for Cottondale, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.
Bethlehem will be playing at home against the Atomics at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Poplar Springs is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Cottondale, they will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Chipley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 303 points over their last four contests.
