Ben Reese made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Reese wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Pittman, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bethel Christian Academy won against DASH last Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again last Thursday. The Trojans blew past Greenville Christian Academy 8-2. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won six in a row.
Cooper Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Brayden Cash was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Bethel Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan White, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Bethel Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Faith Christian Academy, their record now sits at 11-2.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Faith Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Bethel Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Faith Christian Academy came up short against Bethel Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 6-1. Can the Conquerors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
