Hill and the Acorns are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Hill Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Live Oak Acorns at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully the Acorns like a good challenge.
Even though Ann Sobrato scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Hill still came out on top. Hill walked away with a 75-62 victory over the Bulldogs.
Live Oak can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Leland by a score of 62-49. The win was all the more spectacular given Live Oak's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1187th, while the Chargers are ranked 554th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Live Oak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Raymond Ramirez, who scored 30 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ramirez has scored all season. Nathan Lozano was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists and three steals.
Hill pushed their record up to 13-9 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Live Oak, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-17.
Hill strolled past the Acorns in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 78-61. Does Hill have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Acorns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
