After a string of five wins, the White River Valley Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Bellows Falls by a score of 57-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bellows Falls to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abby Nystrom, who scored 17 points along with five assists and four steals. Delaney Lockerby was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
White River Valley's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6. As for Bellows Falls, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
White River Valley will head out on the road to face off against Rivendell Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in White River Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Bellows Falls, they will be playing at home against Woodstock at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bellows Falls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
